A ROOM in a shared house off Dalston Lane is being offered to visitors to the London Olympic for £500 a night.
The house, on the Rhodes Estate, above, has a low-level double bed and some storage spaces and is shared with “four very nice people”, says Caroline, who is advertising it on the internet. She will not charge for extra guests.
She adds: “Residents love the area for its diversity and mix of unique individuals. The property boasts fabulous amenities and great transport links.”
Trains from Dalston Kingsland station, a short walk away, take 12 minutes to get to Stratford station and the Olympics.
So far, Caroline, who works for a media company, has had no takers for the room.
In Dalston Lane, close to the £500-a-night room, the Hotel Avo website shows availability throughout the Olympics, offering a compact double room with en suite bathroom for £109 a night.
A few kilometres away in De Beauvoir a “beautiful minimal but cosy three-bedroom house” designed by David Adjaye can be rented for £570 a night.
