Not Hackney Council. It is Transport for London which mis-manages this junction.
Thekingmob’s problem also applies if you are cycling south along Kingsland Road and encounter vehicles turning left into Dalston Lane.
Wow, so sad to hear. Passed this this morning and feared the worst. A point to make; I was knocked off (though luckily not seriously hurt) at the exact same junction. A problem I noted was the cycle box is barely painted on, meaning that the less aware and frankly dumb drivers that use the road are not aware of the box at all. This is what happened to me, I was crossing the road to head over to Balls Pond Road and was knocked off by a woman turning left onto Kingsland. In light of this, maybe we should make Hackney council aware of this? (I say as i don’t know what the channels are to go about this)
