Grab £5k as Hackney runs its annual giveaway

YAY, UP TO £5,000 is on offer in the latest giveaway to be administered by Hackney council.

The catch is that you have to be a charity or community group. (Yes, sadly, the offer is not for individuals.)

Applicants will have to show how their projects will improve the lives of Hackneyites by aiming to:

* reduce poverty

* raise aspirations

* promote healthy living

* make the borough safer

* promote mixed communities

* increase community pride.

Projects will have to be carried out between 1 October 2015 and 31 March 2016.

Up to £1,000 is also available through something termed the community chest grant for short-term schemes that foster community, neighbourliness and pride.
