HACKNEY POLICE have been making house-to-house enquiries in Dalston after a young man was shot in Ridley Road just east of the fruit-and-vegetable market.

The shooting, today Sunday 16 August 2015 around lunchtime, was said to be Turkish/Kurdish gang-related.

The victim, in his thirties, is in hospital recovering from a leg wound. His condition is described as “serious but stable”.

During a search around the area officers found a firearm and made 13 arrests for several offences.

Police have been knocking on the doors of homes and buildings near Ridley Road in the hope of finding CCTV film that may provide information about the attack.
