WHEN PRs email that a club is holding a free event, the obvious question is “What’s the catch?” But the publicists for Number 90 Bar and Kitchen at swear that the Hackney Wick venue’s birthday weekender four-day party truly comes with no troublesome caveats.
The canal-side venue is celebrating having lasted two years. Step up DJs from Late Night Tales, Rough Trade and Phonica, as well as Slothboogie and Groove Armada’s Tom Findlay, bands, performers, live art installations (often code for “may involve nudity”), limbo contest, vinyl-record stand, food stalls and cocktails.

A waterside decking area big enough to hold up to 100 punters, and with its own bar, will be unveiled, making the terrace the ideal spot from which to watch the sun go down as you chat with friends about whether the UK goes up/down after the the European referendum.
Truth is, you’re probably already as bored with the topic as most people, all of whom, say the publicists, are invited.
