MAD CYCLISTS – and, yes, some of us are sane – will want to nip to Shoreditch tomorrow Friday 14 March 2014 for a free rollapaluza session.
In rollapaluza two contestants battle it out, to the sound of loud music, on a pair of custom-built rollers connected to a huge dial, requiring split-second timing over a simulated 500m distance at speeds of 50mph-plus. Apparently.
The event is free, the only price to pay being that the sponsor, a Shoreditch sportswear startup called Tribesports, will expect you to gasp in admiration at its latest “performance cycling jerseys”, one of which is pictured above.
Or, as Andrew McDonough, of Tribesports, puts it, “We wanted to hold an event that truly celebrates the growth of cycling in East London to launch our latest community-designed product. There is an increase in the number of sports-focused businesses emerging in East London. The more we can work together to propagate the trend the better.”
