SOME UNPAID CARERS, people who voluntarily look after relatives or other loved ones, are not being given the support they need, according to a carer organisation.
So they are being asked to join support groups to advise on what lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) support is available.
Project co-ordinator Katharine Collins of the City and Hackney Carers Centre told Loving Dalston: “Often carers do not get the support they are entitled to. This is especially true for LGBT carers.”
LGBT people were also being sought to sit on the project’s steering group.
