HEY, LADS! You know that roundy happy-clappy placey in Clapton, above, that you occasionally go past? It could be the start of your showbiz career.
A casting agency wants to find a teenage working-class boy to star in “a major studio film” by director Yann Demange, known for 2011’s Top Boy series with Ashley Walters.
Des Hamilton Casting (DHC) says it likes to do “street casting” to find new talent, rather than audition established actors, as it did with Top Boy and the violent This is England.
DHC adds: “We are hoping to discover a working-class, streetwise, Caucasian, 15 to 18-year-old male to play the lead.

“The brief is quite specific because it is based on a true story. The boy doesn’t need to have any acting experience.
“This will be well-paid work.”
By the anthropologically questionable word “Caucasian”, the agency means “white”.
