A four-day riverside party in Hackney Wick? It might even be worth splashing out on a paddleboard

THE FREE FOUR-DAY PARTY that seems too good to be true is happening again. Number 90 in Hackney Wick is celebrating its third birthday. “And,” say the publicists for the bar and kitchen, “everyone is invited.”

With Rough Trade and Phonica Records DJ sets, live bands, flea market, records fair, comedians, cocktails and snacks, it starts with a press launch and at some time during the four days, the event will include artists being given the chance to create murals and artworks.

Revellers can also buy snacks from the locally sourced ingredients of Number 90’s menu, which caters to vegetarian, meatist and gluten-free needs. The drinks menu

The Number 90 bar on the Lea, not far from the Olypmic/West Ham stadium
includes craft beers, cocktails and smoothies. You’ll have gathered, it’s not quite the free party puffed by the PRs. Unless, that is, you blag your way into the press launch. Now that would be very wrong.
