Tailor-made for Hackney wannabe entrepreneurs

A GREAT though not widely known resource for anyone wanting to start their own enterprise is the City Business Library (CBL), deep in the City and a short cycle ride, walk or bus trip from Hackney.

Next month CBL is to have a one-day pop-up shop: small businesses in the fashion industry showing and selling their products. Entry is free.

Costing £10, however, is a networking evening. This will be held from 6 to 8.30.

A panel of expert speakers, including a mentor and a lawyer, will answer questions, and entrepreneurs from Portobello Business Centre will reveal some secrets — how secret depends on the rigour of audience questions.

The library is one of the best resources for would-be entrepreneurs, especially its seminars led by independent consultants. They comprise a comprehensive selection covering online marketing, networking, social media and presentations and are free. Sign up via cblevents@cityoflondon.gov.uk  or the CBL website.
